2D Mapping

SkyCrew Pictures specialize in photogrammetry 2D mapping.  Our drone (UAV) pilots are industry experienced in land surveying and construction.

The orthomosaic is a 2D map.  Each point contains X/Y axis and color information.  The orthomosaic has uniform scale and can be used for 2D measurements, distances, and areas, because it is an accurate representation of the Earth’s geographic surface.

The overlapping geo-referenced 2D aerial images are stitched together in the software to produce a 2D photo-mosaic.

Like any printed map the 2D map viewpoint is directly overhead looking down vertically on the Z axis.  There is no obvious perspective of elevation as only the X/Y elevations are plotted.
